Air Con Installation: What you need to know before booking your next install.

Before you go ahead with your new AC Installation, make sure your installer is the right fit for you. Here are our answers to important questions you may not have thought to ask.

Air Con Installation

• Have they considered additional cable length and pipework? Will the installation be for a high set or low set? What additional charges might they incur once they begin work at your home?
If site visits have been completed these quotes are generally fixed and may include variations as discussed during the site visit. Site unseen quotes are NOT fixed. If we arrive onsite and find variations are required these will be raised and discussed with the customer prior to commencing.

• Inquire about the energy efficiency, noise levels both inside and outside, after-sales service, warranty, controls, and whether it’s the latest model or an older version.
We supply the best air conditioner brands and provide detailed product brochures relating to the air conditioner as well as a link to information outlining what is included in a standard back-to-back installation

• Proper placement and model selection – does it complement the aesthetics of your home and function effectively? Is the unit appropriately sized? An air conditioner that’s too large can be just as problematic as one that’s too small. Consider the impact of heat load from sun exposure and shading.
We ensure that the air conditioner we install is both aesthetically pleasing and functionally effective for your home. We carefully select the model and placement to complement your home’s design. Our team will assess the size of the unit to make sure it’s neither too large nor too small for your space, as this can impact efficiency and comfort. We also consider factors such as heat load from sun exposure and shading to optimize the performance of your air conditioner.

• Check if the circuit uses a high-quality cable or a cheaper alternative. Has the air conditioner been installed with a safety switch, as required by recent laws? Also, make sure the cable size is suitable for the newer air conditioner models, considering the recent changes in wiring standards.
We ensure a high-quality electrical connection by using premium cables and installing a safety switch to comply with current regulations. Our team also checks that the cable size meets the latest wiring standards for modern air conditioner models.

• Ensure the drain is up to code. Does it direct condensation properly to the storm water system? Effective termite control requires moisture to be kept away from the house.
We ensure our drains are run to the nearest drainage point, downpipe etc.

• Prevent the unit from falling by using sturdy brackets. If brackets are necessary, make sure they are durable enough to last as long as the air conditioning system. Replacing them halfway through the unit’s lifespan can be costly.
If brackets are required, we use sturdy, high-quality brackets to securely mount your air conditioner, ensuring they last as long as the unit to avoid any costly replacements.

• Is the pipework properly insulated to improve energy efficiency?
We make sure that all pipework is properly insulated to enhance energy efficiency. Proper insulation helps maintain the cooling performance of your air conditioner and reduces energy loss, ensuring your system operates efficiently and effectively
